The effects of living in generational poverty far exceed the apparent lack of food, clothing, and adequate housing. Perhaps the most devastating impact is children growing up believing factors beyond their control determine their current circumstances and futures. KidPOWER teaches children that their futures are defined by their choices, not fate.
KidPOWER provides programming to help students make positive life choices and overcome the toxic stress of Adverse Childhood Experiences. The KidPOWER curriculum includes mentoring, tutoring, and lessons in emotional literacy. By offering our program, we hope to see generational cycles disrupted and victims transformed into victors!
